Hadrian's Wall Half Marathon MMXII
Course Description
The course is suitable for all types of runners looking for something different to running a road half marathon.
If you are venturing away from the road for the first time, this is different. It's definitely not a road race. If you are a fell runner, then its definitely not a fell race. The best description is a: multi-terrain trail race. It's a good introduction to a run on the wild side, marshaled and route marked with water stations at 5K intervals.
The feedback from last year: "loved the course, will do it again, tough last mile"
As you might of guessed it's not a PB course, check the results out. If you can do this one, you can do the rest (all except one allegedly, Lake District? )
The route used in 2011 has been changed. The last 1.2 miles now comes along the B6318. The change was made after consultation with English Heritage who are concerned about events taking place within the World Heritage Site. The good news is that it saves 80m of climbing.
The course record is currently held by:
Les Smith - 1hr 34m 14s
Laura Davies - 1hr 54m 41s
