

Hadrian's Wall Half Marathon MMXII
Sunday 24th June 2012 at 10am

The race is a circular route of not less than half marathon distance* close to a section of Hadrian's Wall with outstanding views of this World Heritage Site. The route is of mixed terrain of grass path, forest track and approx 4.8 miles of road. Suitable for road running and trail shoes. For more detail select 'Course' on the menu.
Race headquarters and parking is at Winshields Camp Site, with the start approx 1km away (saves an uphill start!). New for 2012, a shuttle bus service for those wishing to save their legs for race.
Camping (discount rate when paid for with entry) and a bunkhouse is available for those staying for the weekend and making the most of the local historical sites.
* Measured by GPS, race distance distance will be a minimum of 13.1 miles and no more than 13.2miles
The race can only take place with the kind permission Hadrian's Wall Heritage Ltd, National Trust, Forestry Commission and local landowners. The limit is due to the run taking place in a World Heritage Site, and is the only authorised race of its kind in the area.
